Second day Experience

The second session of the ATS Program at Everyside Foundation focused on the critical role of play in children’s development. The program emphasized the importance of structured games with rules or a little structure to help children develop self-regulation skills, such as working memory, inhibitory control, and cognitive flexibility.
The ATS Program is designed to help children develop important skills while having fun through play. By incorporating games with rules, children learn and grow in a safe and supportive environment, which is crucial for their emotional and social development. Children who learn self-regulation skills through play are better equipped to handle challenges in life, and they are more likely to succeed academically and socially in the long run.
The success of the ATS Program’s second session at Everyside Foundation can be attributed to the dedication and hard work of CEO Beulah Savitha and team members Remo, Janet, and Juliet. Their commitment to providing a supportive and encouraging environment for children to learn and grow through play is evident in the program’s emphasis on structured games and activities that are both fun and educational.

The program is helping children reach their full potential and prepare for success in all areas of life

Cognitive Assessments

Structured games are effective in helping children practice self-regulation skills. By listening and remembering instructions, paying attention to the adult leading the game, and resisting the natural inclinations to stop/go/run or shout out, children improve their attention and focus. Inhibitory control is another critical self-regulation skill that children can develop through playing games with rules. By learning to resist their natural inclinations and follow directions, children are better equipped to handle challenges in life and make more informed decisions in the future.
Starting with simple games and gradually building in complexity helps strengthen children’s ability to self-regulate. By adding rules, variations, or extra challenges, children develop their problem-solving and critical thinking skills while having fun
