Introduction

The Bright Future: Child Education campaign by Everyside Foundation commenced on 15th January 2024 at Kolathur, Tamil Nadu, India. This Campaign was a vital component aimed at enhancing the interpersonal abilities of children in foster care, underprivileged neighbourhood, and at-risk environments.

Objectives

The primary goal of the Social Skills Training program is to equip children with essential social and emotional skills necessary for their development. The program strives to empower children to navigate social situations confidently. This includes skills such as Verbal & Non-Verbal Communications, Empathy, Self Control and Social Problem Solving.

Methodologies

1.Interactive Workshops: Conducting age-appropriate workshops to engage children in various interactive activities that promote teamwork, communication, and conflict resolution.
2.Role-Playing Exercises: Utilizing role-playing scenarios to allow children to practice social skills in a controlled environment, enabling them to better handle real-life situations.
3.Therapeutic Interventions: Integrating therapeutic techniques to address underlying emotional issues and provide a supportive environment for children to express themselves.
4.Parental Involvement: Encouraging parental participation through informational sessions and activities to reinforce the learned social skills at home.

Program Implementation

The Social Skills Training program is implemented through partnerships with qualified therapists, educators, and child psychologists. These professionals collaborate to tailor the program to the unique needs of each child, ensuring a personalized and effective approach.

Assessment and Monitoring

Regular assessments are conducted to gauge the progress of participating children. Varshini, the Facilitator & Guide during the campaign and operations. She is responsible for monitoring and assessment of the children and campaign. Behavioural observations, self-assessment tools, and feedback from caregivers contribute to a comprehensive evaluation. This ongoing monitoring allows for adjustments to the program to meet evolving needs.

Challenges and Recommendations

Challenges may include limited resources, accessibility, and addressing diverse needs. Recommendations include expanding resources, fostering community partnerships, and continuous program evaluation for refinement.
