Providing Health Services / healthcare : Everyside Foundation’s Free
Medical Support to the residents of Arunthathy Palayam Village.

On 30th April, 2023, The Everyside Foundation initiated a community outreach programme with a free medical drive for the residents of Arunthathy Palayam Village in Tamil Nadu. Arunthathy Palayam is a small village/hamlet in Tiruvallur Block of the Thiruvallur District of Tamil Nadu State, India. The residents of this village mostly belong to the marginalised communities and are thus devoid of the basic health and wellness needs. Therefore, this event aimed to provide the basic healthcare facilities to the community people and to address their needs when it came to basic health and hygiene.
The Arunthathy Palayam community is one of the many indigenous and marginalised communities in Tamil Nadu, mainly involved in occupations such as labour work and 100 days work. The village comprises of 75 homes and have a distinct culture and language of their own. Historically, the community has faced discrimination and marginalisation, which has led to their social and economic exclusion. Despite various government initiatives to improve their living conditions, the Arunthathy Palayam community continues to struggle with poverty, infirmity, and lack of basic amenities. The medical event organised by the Everyside foundation was a significant step towards addressing the basic healthcare needs of the Arunthathy Palayam community and providing them with the essential support needed for living a healthy lifestyle.
The Event was organised by Rev. Sunil Singh Nallathambi, President of Gilgal Gospel mission and Ms. Beulah Savitha, Founder and CEO of The Everyside foundation. The team arranged for the distribution of the essential healthcare facilities like eye examinations, blood pressure monitoring and general consultation to the people of the community. A temporary stall was set up in the village where they arranged for all the provisions and requirements. The notable team members and volunteers including Vinesh, Ajith Rittu, Adwin Samuel, Akta sahu, Kiran, Satish, Esther Palayam, all took the initiative to participate in the medical drive and provided the community people with proper guidance and support throughout the medical drive. Dr. Gokul Rose, Dr Suganya, and Dr Uma Nandhini were the three medical practitioners and optometrists present on site who helped with the distribution of medical facilities and provided consultation to the people of the village free of charge.
The medical event organised by the Everyside foundation had a significant impact on the Arunthathy Palayam community people. The community people expressed their gratitude towards the foundation and the volunteers for the help extended to them. The medical facilities provided would help the community people sustain their livelihoods and ensure proper health and wellbeing for all.
The event organised by the Everyside foundation for the Arunthathy Palayam community people at Thiruvallur District of Tamil Nadu, was a commendable effort towards addressing the needs of the marginalised society. The foundation’s efforts in providing necessities to the community people during difficult times are highly appreciated. The event had a positive impact on the lives of the community people, and is a step towards making a difference in the lives of the marginalised communities.
