OBJECTIVE AND BENEFIT –
This Jewellery making activity falls into the category of Soft Skill Development activity. As the name suggests this is essentially devoid of technology and academic knowledges. This is simply
hands-on activity where the organiser arranges a brief workshop, imparts quick training and encourages the interns to create attractive jewelleries. Even doing for the first time also yields desired results. And by this, identifying the prospective interns, imparting more training and providing necessary tips,
paves the way for the future, if the interns may take this as a profession and use this skill to earn money.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROGRAM OF JEWELRY MAKING
ORGANISED BY THE NGO EVRYSIDE FOUNDATION
One of the unique steps by the Foundation was organizing an internship program on Jewelry Making on the 6th day of the 7day curriculum and it was one of the satisfying and fulfilling activities among the interns, as much as satisfying for the organization and its volunteers.
It was an all-girl intern like the other programs and the participants came from all corners of the country to take part in it. One thing is worthy of mention that these little girls came empty handed with little or no knowledge of skills and skill development but after completion of this gala 7day program,
returned enriched with lot of practical knowledge and skills along with unlimited joy and fun and making friends forever and exchanging various cultures.
For that matter, the NGO, Everyside Foundation, and its volunteers also got enriched by these by providing training and in the end, seeing the products those interns came out with.
Seeing the end products, who will say that those interns made jewelleries for the first time in their life, that too getting a brief training and guidance?
It all started with providing raw materials for quilling – paper strips, glue, beads, hook clasps etc. and continuous monitoring and guidance by the volunteers. The interns, nonchalantly followed all the steps with minute detail to achieve the final products, which surprised everyone present as the finesse of
the products were so nice and had thorough professional touch.
The final display was nothing short of a posh jewelry shop stuffed with precious colourful earrings, pendants etc. So much so that all the girls, irrespective of interns and volunteers along with CEO of Everyside Foundation got excited and busy choosing the matching pairs of jewelries along with the colour of their dresses. Oh! See the joy in their faces and look at their palms. It is the creators and their creations! How satisfying!
Thus, another red-letter day, another fulfilling program came to an end. Everyone is a winner as everyone had gained from this program.
